1. Happy days of childhood, memories of home!
Sweet scenes, how they linger, tho’ the years may come;
Swift hours veil in shadow ev’ry golden day,
But the joys of children, years hide not away.

O the faith of childhood! O the love of home!
Ever may they linger, tho’ afar we roam;
Let time veil in shadow ev’ry golden day,
But the joy of childhood grant us, Lord, alway!
2. Thus an humble city of old Galilee,
Bordered by the mountains and the restless sea,
Blest with holy childhood, to each heart is near;
Childhood home of Jesus, dear, forever dear.
3. O the wondrous visions of those childhood years,
Now in joys of triumph, now in chast’ning tears;
O the light of wisdom on that youthful face,
Daily wreathed in glory by the Father’s grace.
