1. Faithful people, now rejoice,
Loud your praise resounding;
Come with thankful heart and voice,
Fervent zeal abounding.
Onward, onward to the goal,
Jesus goes before us;
Come, O come! each valiant soul
Sound on high the chorus.
2. As we raise our martial song,
Courage ne’er abating,
Angel bands, a holy throng,
On our steps are waiting,
In the path our fathers trod
With their faith unswerving;
Heroes of the Church of God—
So would we be serving.
