Volunteer
This site is a volunteer effort, put together by volunteers donating the time and money to make it available. There are any number of ways to help out:
- Transcribe hymns. (You don’t need any special equipment other than a computer, a keyboard, and two willing hands to help with this! There are hundreds of hymns waiting to be transcribed.) Transcribing guidelines: here.
- Point out a tyop. Oops, typo.
- Identify Bible Verse references in hymns for the Bible Verse index.
- Donate pre-1922 hymnals. Here are the hymnals already scanned.
- Scan pre-1922 hymnals.
- Donate pre-1922 foreign language hymnals, help with scanning and transcribing them.
- Double-check foreign language translations for accuracy. If it’s a language the site editor doesn’t know (which is to say, unfortunately, everything but English!) we’d need at least one independent source checking translations for linguistic and theological accuracy. (Nothing fancy on that last point, just ensuring there’s nothing in direct disagreement with basic Christian doctrine.)
